Crop Circles
The Crop Circles is one of several musical outlets of Earl Brooks, an Americana / Rock singer-songwriter. Brooks is known for his crisp guitar style, his tongue-in-cheek lyrics and for being an early player of Americana music in Seattle. He grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he learned to play the guitar his mom bought with S & H Greenstamps. After school Earl headed west, eventually landing in Seattle's then bohemian Belltown district where he fell (or perhaps tripped) into the psych-folk scene that was simmering in the Emerald City at that time, where he formed The Wigglin’ Tators and Blood of the Lamb band. Next came his most ambitious project, the Crop Circles, at various times featuring a large cast of characters; Dave Legg, Carolyn Wennblom (Girl Singer), Lauren Deknatel and David Berger (Tina Chopp, Gary Heffern), Arttu Tolonen, Mike Birenbaum, Sean Sippel, Terri Moeller Pearson (Terri Tarantula, The Transmissionary Six, The Walkabouts) and many other wonderful musicians.
Between 1995 and 2001 the Crop Circles released three CD’s; Born With A Bad Heart, The Crop Circles Sing the Songs of Stinky Doolittle and Home Sweet Home.
